ARK: Survival Ascended's Extended Content Roadmap Unveiled
Studio Wildcard has recently unveiled an expansive content roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, extending into late 2026. This ambitious plan outlines a significant update schedule for the Unreal Engine 5-powered remaster of the popular survival crafting game, initially released in early access in November 2023.
Key highlights from the roadmap include a transition to Unreal Engine 5.5, promising substantial performance improvements and the return of Nvidia's frame generation. This technical update, slated for March 2025, will also pave the way for individual DLC map downloads, significantly reducing the game's overall install size.
The roadmap details a steady stream of content additions throughout 2025 and 2026:
2025:
- March: Unreal Engine 5.5 upgrade.
- April: Free Ragnarok Ascended map, Bison (free creature), and a new Fantastic Tame.
- June: A new premium map (details to be announced).
- August: Free Valguero Ascended map, a community-voted free creature, and another Fantastic Tame.
2026:
- April: Free Genesis Ascended Part 1 and Bob's True Tales Part 1.
- August: Free Genesis Ascended Part 2 and Bob's True Tales Part 2.
- December: Free Fjordur Ascended map and a community-voted free creature.
- Throughout the year: Three additional Fantastic Tames will be released.
The roadmap confirms the release of several free map updates, including Ragnarok, Valguero, Genesis (Parts 1 & 2), and Fjordur, all in their Ascended versions. These will be accompanied by community-chosen free creatures and a series of premium Fantastic Tames. A new paid map is also scheduled for release in June 2025.
While the roadmap provides a high-level overview of the planned content, Studio Wildcard hints at the possibility of additional, unannounced surprises throughout the next two years. Players can anticipate a significant amount of new content and improvements to the ARK: Survival Ascended experience.
