New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis
Dell unveiled the latest Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. While the new chassis retains a design similar to the 2024 R16 system, it features significant aesthetic and cooling enhancements, as well as updated components. The I/O panel is now located at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window extends across the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side panel vents. Air intakes are now positioned at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that reduces dust accumulation. The internal components have been upgraded with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest generation of CPUs and GPUs.
The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 stands out as the most powerful consumer GPU currently on the market. While Nvidia has focused on enhancing software, AI features, and DLSS 4 technology, the RTX 5090 still offers a significant 25%-30% performance increase over the RTX 4090 in terms of pure hardware-based raster performance. Additionally, it comes with more (32GB vs 24GB) and faster (GDDR7 vs GDDR6) VRAM. Due to high demand, finding this GPU at its retail price is challenging, with eBay listings ranging from $3,500 to $4,000.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE Review by Jackie Thomas**
"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has taken the performance crown from the RTX 4090, albeit with a smaller generational uplift than we've seen in the past. In traditional non-AI gaming scenarios, the RTX 5090's performance gains are modest. However, when leveraging DLSS 4 in supported games, the performance boost is substantial—albeit with the caveat that 75% of the frames are generated via AI."
