Alicia Silverstone Returns for Clueless Sequel Series

Fans of the iconic 1995 film *Clueless* are in for a treat as Alicia Silverstone is set to don the yellow and plaid once again, reprising her role as the beloved Cher Horowitz in a new sequel series for Peacock. The project, currently in development, promises to continue the story from the original movie, though plot details are still under wraps. This new venture marks a fresh attempt at a *Clueless* spin-off, distinct from the one Peacock was planning in 2020.

The creative team behind the series includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for their work on the original and rebooted *Gossip Girl* series. They will be writing the new series alongside Jordan Weiss, and the trio will also serve as executive producers. Joining them are Amy Heckerling, the original writer-director of *Clueless*, and Robert Lawrence, the film's original producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are on board to produce this eagerly anticipated series.

This isn't the first time *Clueless* has been adapted for the small screen. Following the film's success, a television version aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, with Rachel Blanchard stepping into the role of Cher instead of Silverstone.

Silverstone's recent return to her *Clueless* character in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten shows her enthusiasm for revisiting Cher's world. It's clear she's eager to step back into Cher's iconic closet, and fans are undoubtedly excited to see her bring the character back to life on Peacock.
