Big news for fans of the "Now You See Me" franchise: not only is the third installment officially titled "Now You See Me: Now You Don’t," but a fourth film is also in development. This exciting announcement was made during CinemaCon by Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, who confirmed that "Now You See Me 3" is still set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025.
Ruben Fleischer, who directed "Now You See Me: Now You Don’t," has signed on to develop and direct the fourth film in this action-heist series, which has already grossed $700 million worldwide. The first two movies featured stars like Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman. Joining the franchise for the third installment are Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt as a new generation of illusionists, and Rosamund Pike.
"Now You See Me: Now You Don’t" reunites Fleischer with Eisenberg and Harrelson, with whom he previously worked on his debut film, "Zombieland." Fleischer's recent directorial successes include "Uncharted," which earned over $400 million globally, and "Venom," which grossed over $850 million worldwide.
The production team for the new films includes Bobby Cohen, who developed and produced all previous entries, and Alex Kurtzman from Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will oversee the project for Lionsgate.
Fogelson praised Fleischer's work, saying, "Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and are thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us."
Fleischer shared his enthusiasm, stating, "Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course, I want to keep it going."
IGN's reviews of the previous films were mixed. The original "Now You See Me" received a 6.3/10, with IGN commenting, "Now You See Me seemed so promising, but it squanders its cool cast and nifty premise on smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot." The sequel, "Now You See Me 2," scored a 6.2, with IGN stating, "Now You See Me 2 isn't the worst magic act in town, but it's all flash and no substance."
