May 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting month for Pokémon GO enthusiasts, packed with a variety of events and the much-anticipated return of the Lake Trio in 5-Star Raids across multiple regions. Whether you're a seasoned trainer or just starting your journey, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
What Does Pokémon GO Have in Store for May 2025?
Kicking off the month, Tapu Fini will make its appearance in Five-Star Raids from May 1st to May 12th. This Water/Fairy-type Legendary Pokémon comes with the special move Nature's Madness and a chance to encounter its Shiny form. Following Tapu Fini, the Lake Trio will make their grand return starting May 12th, with each member appearing in different regions: Uxie in the Asia-Pacific, Mesprit in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, and Azelf in the Americas and Greenland. After the Lake Trio's stint, Tapu Bulu will take over the Five-Star Raids from May 25th to June 3rd, 2025, also featuring Nature's Madness and a Shiny chance.
For those interested in Mega Raids, May offers an impressive lineup. From May 1st to May 12th, Mega Houndoom will be available, followed by Mega Gyarados from May 12th to May 25th, and finally, Mega Altaria from May 25th to June 3rd.

The month kicks off with the "Growing Up" event from May 2nd to 7th, complemented by a Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day on May 3rd. The "Crown Clash" event runs from May 10th to 18th, with a special Dynamax Suicune Max Battle Weekend on May 10th and 11th. On May 11th, a Community Day will feature a yet-to-be-revealed Pokémon. Following this, "Crown Clash: Taken Over" will take place from May 14th to 18th, with a Shadow Raid Day on May 17th.
Later in the month, "Final Strike: GO Battle Week" will occur from May 21st to 27th, and a Community Day Classic is scheduled for May 24th. The month concludes with a Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day on May 25th, 2025.
