About Medarots:

Medarots are customizable ego-friend robots created by Medarotsha. Each Medarot is assembled from four parts (head, right arm, left arm, and leg) attached to a tympet chassis and powered by a medal acting as its brain. These roughly 1-meter-tall robots possess intelligence and sentience on par with or exceeding humans.

Their popularity stems from the ease of customization through part replacement and readily available parts. The "Robattle" combat system further fueled their widespread appeal.
