Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Love Sudoku? Want to challenge friends or compete as a team? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version of the classic puzzle game where you vie for the highest score. The goal remains the same: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Before you begin, set the difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest) in the game options. This determines the number of pre-filled digits, providing a common starting point for all players. Everyone receives the identical puzzle.

Game Modes:

The game offers two modes, configurable in the options:

• "Show correct numbers of opponent": Each correctly placed number is visible to all players, earning you points. You can't use a number already placed by another player. Speed and accuracy are key!
• "Hide correct numbers": Players can't see each other's correct numbers. This allows for the same number to be used multiple times, increasing the potential for simultaneous point scoring.

Time-Outs:

Incorrect entries result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, configurable). You're temporarily blocked from playing while others continue.

Points:

Correct numbers earn points, with higher difficulty levels awarding more points per correct digit. Incorrect entries cost you points (half the value of a correct entry).

Winning the Game:

The game ends when the puzzle is completely solved. The player with the most points wins. If "Show correct numbers of opponent" is disabled, the game ends when one player solves it, though this doesn't grant extra points; others can still win by making fewer mistakes.

Team Play vs. Individual Play:

A team mode lets two teams compete. Join a team (1 or 2) upon entering a game. At least two players per team are needed. Team points are cumulative, and notes/filled colors are shared among teammates, enabling collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar under the puzzle provides helpful tools:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to squares to track possibilities. Selecting a number already present removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares (including solved ones).
